What type of things will I be working on?
On this 12-month industrial placement, starting September 2026, you will work within one of our process development teams. Here you’ll play a key role in contributing directly to new products and developing cutting-edge robust assembly processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- New product design/development
- Reactive support for manufacturing of Additive Manufacturing machines
- Process engineering and assembly development
- Tooling jigs, fixtures and rigs
- Assemble systems (manual, semi and fully automated)
- Production control and associated reporting methodologies
- Process capability measurement, analysis and reporting
- Advanced assembly manufacturing tools such as robots, vision systems, part feeding and presentation systems.

Where will I be working?
This role is based out of one of our manufacturing facility in South Wales. As Renishaw sites are located in semi-rural areas, applicants must ensure they have reliable means of transport to reach the site, as public transportation options will be limited. Alternatively, applicants should be willing to relocate to the local area.
What do I need?
We’re looking for passionate engineers in a relevant Engineering discipline.
Training and development is excellent so candidates with no experience but a keen interest in engineering will be strongly considered. If you are excited about the role but feel as though you don’t meet all the requirements, we would encourage you still to apply.
