Spend 10 weeks gaining practical experience within Barclays’ Investment Banking division in London. The internship is based at Barclays’ global headquarters in Canary Wharf, in the heart of London’s financial district. The London hub is home to a wide range of functions and teams across the organisation.
The Role
As a Banking Summer Intern, you’ll work with Barclays’ Coverage and Mergers and Acquisitions teams, helping to answer some of the most important strategic questions facing corporate clients.
You’ll spend the summer learning the principles behind executing investment banking transactions. As part of an industry, product or geographic team, you’ll contribute to live deals and deal proposals while gaining exposure to different clients, transactions and specialist areas.
Your work may include:
- Financial analysis and modelling.
- Valuation work.
- Industry research.
- Client due diligence.
- Developing written materials, including offering memoranda and new business presentations.
- Supporting live deals and client pitches.
- Working with cross-functional teams on wider business initiatives.
- Developing financial models and strategies to support investment banking decisions.
- Building an understanding of how businesses operate and learning from experienced professionals across the industry.
You’ll also take part in training and development programmes designed to strengthen your knowledge and skills throughout the internship.

Requirements
- You must be in the penultimate or final year of your degree.
- You should have an interest in business and finance and a curiosity to learn.
