Graduate Supply Chain Operations Assistant

Build your career in an industry where efficient supply chains have a direct role in reducing waste, using resources responsibly and keeping essential manufacturing moving. This graduate opportunity gives you practical exposure across the full supply chain while developing skills for long-term progression.

The Company

Based in Oldbury, this global manufacturing business operates within the steel industry and is working to make its operations more sustainable and resource-efficient. Its approach combines commercial performance with environmental and social responsibility, including reducing emissions, improving production processes and supporting employee development. You will join a collaborative, people-focused environment where learning, continuous improvement and responsible manufacturing are part of day-to-day work.

The Role

As a Graduate Supply Chain Operations Assistant, you will help keep materials, products and information moving accurately through the business. You will learn how purchasing decisions, supplier relationships, inventory control and warehouse operations connect within an international manufacturing supply chain. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will also build practical experience with ERP systems, quality documentation and traceability while contributing to improvements that support efficient, responsible operations.

  • Support daily supply chain operations alongside the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Coordinate purchasing activity and learn how supplier relationships are managed.
  • Maintain accurate stock, inventory and warehouse information.
  • Use ERP systems to manage products, materials and supply chain records.
  • Process goods received and maintain quality and traceability documentation.
  • Produce reports and support continuous improvement across supply chain processes.

Benefits and Perks

You will join a supportive team that values learning and gives you exposure to several parts of the supply chain rather than limiting you to one narrow area. As well as a starting salary of £30,000, you will also get the following benefits:

  • Structured training programme to support your development.
  • Exposure to global supply chain operations.
  • Strong potential for long-term career growth.
  • Early finish on Fridays.
  • Work from home on Fridays.

Requirements

  • A 2:1 degree or above in any subject.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Living within a one-hour commute of the Oldbury site.
