Their apprenticeship programmes offer a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while gaining valuable skills and qualifications. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a career change, DWP apprenticeships provide a pathway into public service with purpose.
Why DWP
DWP is focused on building a diverse, inclusive and forward-thinking workforce. Apprentices join a culture that values collaboration, innovation and public impact. With support from experienced mentors and colleagues, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that make a real difference to people’s lives – from digital transformation to frontline services.

Programmes are available across key areas including Digital, Data & Technology, Business Administration, Policy, Operations, and Customer Service. Whether you’re designing systems, analysing data, supporting service delivery or helping shape policy, you’ll be learning on the job and building a career that serves the public.
Company Culture
DWP fosters a culture of inclusion, flexibility and continuous learning. Apprentices are part of a supportive community where everyone is valued and encouraged to bring their whole self to work. You’ll be surrounded by colleagues who care, collaborate and adapt to meet the needs of society. Recognition is part of the culture, with awards like Apprentice Champion and Rising Star, and many apprentices go on to build long-term careers within the Civil Service.

You’ll benefit from paid study time, mentoring and access to apprentice networks across the Civil Service.
